These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Debt Free Journey ("App"), provided by J AND K WEB COLLECTIVE (PTY) LTD ("we", "us", "our").
1. Purpose of the App
Debt Free Journey is a local-first debt payoff tracker designed to help users monitor repayment progress, view payoff strategies, and stay motivated while working toward becoming debt free.
The App is provided for informational, educational, and personal productivity purposes only. It is not financial advice, legal advice, accounting advice, credit counseling, or investment advice.
2. Eligibility and Acceptance
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
3. Local Data and User Responsibility
The debt balances, payment history, notes, and settings you enter are stored on your device. You are responsible for:
- the accuracy of any information you enter
- reviewing your own debt records
- maintaining access to your device
- keeping your own backups where appropriate
4. No Financial Advice
The App may show estimates such as projected payoff dates, debt-free percentages, recommended payoff order, or "what if" scenarios. These are estimates only and depend entirely on the information you enter.
You should independently verify all decisions and consult a qualified professional where needed.
5. Ads and In-App Purchases
The free version of the App may display banner advertisements.
The App may offer a one-time lifetime purchase to remove ads. This purchase is processed by Google Play, not by us directly. Pricing, billing, taxes, and refund rights are governed by the relevant app store rules.
6. Offline Functionality
The App is designed to work offline for core debt tracking features. Some functionality, such as ad delivery, purchase verification, or opening external legal links, may require internet access.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- misuse the App
- attempt to reverse engineer or tamper with the App
- use the App in violation of applicable law
- interfere with ads, purchase flows, or app security
8. Intellectual Property
All branding, design, software, and original app content provided by us remain our property or the property of our licensors. You receive a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, exact calculations in every scenario, or compatibility with every device configuration.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for financial decisions made based on information displayed in the App.
11. Termination
We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App at any time where reasonably necessary.
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after updates become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your jurisdiction.
